1. WHAT INFORMATION DO WE COLLECT?

Personal information you disclose to us

In Short: The Top Takers app may ask you for certain location information which is processed by an external server. The Permits at Hand app may use GPS to show your location on a map. We may collect personal information if you disclose to us by other means.

The Top Takers app asks you to select a US state and optionally to enter an address or zipcode which will help to identify a congressional district and the corresponding Members of Congress. This data doesn’t have to be your personal location, and you can avoid entering it if you know the district number or can look it up elsewhere. If the data is an address it is sent by encrypted HTTPS to the Google Civic Information API server which determines the corresponding congressional district. For your convenience the app then stores the state and district number in your device so that you don’t have to re-enter it, but the app does not store the address or transmit it to any other device or server.

The app does not ask for any other personal or identifying information.

We may also collect personal information that you voluntarily provide to us when you contact us outside the app via email. That information will be used to reply to you. If you post to our social media accounts or to Google Groups, that information will be public.

At this stage no uniform technology standard for recognizing and implementing DNT signals has been finalized. As such, we do not currently respond to DNT browser signals or any other mechanism that automatically communicates your choice not to be tracked online. If a standard for online tracking is adopted that we must follow in the future, we will inform you about that practice in a revised version of this privacy notice.
